Our Teachers

Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to have a team of two qualified and experienced full time teachers. Sheikh Abdelkarim Edghouch is in-charge of our Hifz program and 7 students have become Huffaz under his supervision so far. We also have Shk. Sayeed Patel who moved to Irving from California very recently. He will be in-charge of our Weekday and Weekend based Nazera (Quran learning) programs. Both will work as a team InshaAllah to benefit the community most. We also have services of Sr Hayat who teaches older girls. Apart from that, we have a team of dedicated volunteers who also help in the weekend program. May Allah have His mercy on all those who are associated with this noble cause.

Below is a brief Bio of our teachers:

Qari Sheikh Abdelkarim Edghouch

Qari Sheikh Abdelkarim Edghouch was born in Morocco, moved to the US in 2000. He memorized the entire Quran at the age of nine, after that he studied the Seven recitations. He participated in many Quranic Contests, locally in Morocco, and internationally, in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey and others. He was ranked first place in most of them. He was also ranked first place among 20,000 contestants at the Hassan II Award (former King of Morocco).

He is a graduate of Quranic Institute In Rabat, Morocco. He used to be the official reciter for the local Moroccan TV channels before he moved to the States. He has an Ijaza with an authentic chain from him to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him). He served several communities in the US such as, Islamic Association of Raleigh as lead teacher of Quranic School for five years, Islamic Association of Hawaii, Islamic Center of Greensboro, and others.

Qari Sheikh Abdelkarim Edghouch is currently in charge of our Hifz program at Irving Quranic School, an entity under Islamic School or Irving, Texas. Seven students finished memorizing the entire Quran under his supervision in 3 years period of time.

He was the official reciter at the ISNA conference in the years of 2007 and 2008. Also, was the official reciter at Reviving the Islamic Spirit in Toronto, Canada (2007). In Ramadan he travels around the USA to lead people in Taraweeh Prayers.

 

Sheikh Sayeed Patel

Sheikh Sayeed Patel moved to Irving from Sacramento, CA during March 2009. He is very experienced and qualified in the field of Quranic education programs like Nazera and Hifz. He memorizes the Holy Qur’an (Hafiz) and has a degree in Islamic Jurisprudence (Aalim).

He has 11 years experience in teaching Qur’an recitation and hifz in the US. In the past, he has served as an Imam at South Sacramento Islamic Center. Also, he served as an Imam and teacher in South Africa for 4 years. He’s been leading taraweeh every Ramadan since he memorized the Qur’an. We are looking forward to get benefitted from his experiences InshaAllah. He has travelled throughout the world and able to speak many languages including Arabic, English, Urdu and Gujarati.
